First, you will need a large enough saucepan where you can place all the eggs in one layer.
You begin by putting in the eggs and pouring cold water over them. Pour in enough water to cover the eggs by an inch. Use high heat when heating up to boiling point. Once that is achieved, turn off the heat and cover the saucepan.
For medium, large, or extra-large eggs, you’ll have to wait for 9, 12, or 15 minutes, respectively. Once you’re done, drain the water from the pan and put the eggs in a bowl filled with very cold water. You can either peel the eggs once they’ve cooled completely, or put them in the fridge. They’ll be good for up to one week in the shell.
A cautionary reminder though –never pierce the shell for sanitary reasons.
Hint- eggs that are 7 to 10 days old are ideal to make hard-boiled eggs that will peel easily. Researchers discovered that older eggs are more alkaline, which makes it easier to remove their shells.
